Ways to Give

ADVANCEMENT STAFF

Shady Hill is grateful to the alumni, parents, grandparents, and friends who, as donors, volunteers, and ambassadors for the School's advancement efforts, have given their time, resources, and, most importantly, conviction to furthering Shady Hill's goals and values. This generosity of spirit builds confidence in achieving success today and in the future.

We invite you to explore the initiatives and volunteer opportunities available under the large umbrella of advancement. Through community events, alumni relations, communications, and fundraising for annual and capital needs, the Advancement Office encompasses all of the efforts that help community members deepen their connections to one another and to the School.

Thank you for your support of the School. Please feel free to contact us if you are interested in volunteering or have questions about ways to support the School.

Please note that our Shady Hill Fund fiscal year (annual giving) runs from July 1 to June 30.

We welcome wire transfers and ask that you alert our Director of Advancement Services Doug Raymond, at 617-520-5223, to let us know in advance, (so we can recognize the wire as yours when it arrives) and to spell out the purpose of your gift. Funds should be wired to:

  • + FROM IRA

This option is available to those aged 70.5 and older. Gifts made directly from your IRA can count toward your required minimum distribution, and such funds stay out of your taxable income, provided you have the funds sent directly to Shady Hill School, rather than to you first. Ask your IRA administrator for the "Qualified Charitable Distribution" forms.

If prompted for Shady Hill's tax ID number, it is: 042 103 628.
  • + STOCK

Supporting Shady Hill School through a gift of appreciated stock can be a tax-wise approach to giving; check with a tax advisor for specifics on your individual situation.

The most common technique for gifting stock is to send the shares via DTC.  Here are the instructions to pass along to your brokerage:

DTC #: 0226 (For Fidelity Investments, which serves as Shady Hill’s brokerage firm)
Account #: Z40356487  (Shady Hill’s own account, within Fidelity Investments)

Should questions arise, Shady Hill’s broker is:

    Fidelity Investments
PO Box 770001, Cincinnati, OH  45277-0003
    Tel: (800) 343-3548

We ask that you also contact Shady Hill’s controller, Vincent Quirk, either by phone at at 617-498-3402, or by email at vince.quirk@shs.org, providing the following information, so that we will recognize the stock as yours when it arrives:

    • Your full name
    • Name of the security being gifted, and number of shares
    • Intended use/designation
    • Date of transfer
    • Name and telephone number of your broker

It is quite common for stock to arrive in the School’s account several days before donor identification reaches us from the sending broker; hence this request that you give us a heads-up.

Thank you so much for your support!
