Founded in 1987 by a group of parents and faculty, Diversity At Shady Hill (DASH) was created to help foster and celebrate the diversity of the Shady Hill School community. DASH strives to cultivate an atmosphere of connection and mutual respect and welcomes ALL members of the Shady Hill Community to participate in this work. Some of the ways DASH accomplishes these goals is by:

Coordinating events to support underrepresented families through our family affinity group structure

Hosting social gatherings for the full Shady Hill community.
DASH is led by volunteer parent co-chairs who work closely with the Director of Equity and Inclusion and Assistant Director of Equity and Inclusion. Groups that are part of DASH include:
Parent/Caregiver Affinity Groups: Provide SHS parents and caregivers with the opportunity to gather in community and connect through shared identities and experiences. Affinity groups are open specifically to those who identify. Our current affinity group offerings are:
