We hope to provide prospective families who are applying for the fall of 2025 with a range of opportunities to connect with members of our community during this admission season. While the parent/guardian interview is the best time to focus on questions specific to your child(ren) and family, the events below provide another forum in which you may ask questions and learn more about Shady Hill.

  • + Virtual Information Session

    Join Sandra Zuckerman, Interim Director of Enrollment Management and Financial Aid, for a comprehensive information session. To join any of the Virtual Info Sessions, please register here. These virtual sessions are geared towards parents/guardians interested in fall 2025.

    As you review our list of events, we ask that you register for just one date for each of the offerings so that as many families as possible may join. Thank you in advance for your understanding!

  • + Lower School Mathematics Virtual Session - January 7: 12:15–1:00 PM

    Join us to hear from Steven Goldman, Lower School Math Curriculum and Instructional Specialist, about Shady Hill's approach to mathematics. Learn about the "why" and the "how" when it comes to our Lower School students learning math!

  • + Virtual Middle School Athletics & Physical Education Information Session - January 13: 7:30–8:30 PM

    Join us for a virtual evening presentation and Q&A with Director of Athletics and Physical Education, Melissa Carver, to learn more about our middle school athletics/PE programs.

  • + Virtual Financial Aid Information Session — January 24: 12:00–1:00 PM

    Please attend a nuts and bolts webinar about financial aid at Shady Hill.  We will walk you through the general application process, discuss aspects specific to Shady Hill, and answer frequently asked questions.

  • + Beginner & Kindergarten Playgroups

    The playgroup is an opportunity for us to learn more about your child! They will spend time playing with peers as well as participating in one-on-one time with one of our teachers. 

    Grown-ups will have a chance to hear from a member of our faculty during the hour-long playgroup. Presentations will be given by different members of our community each weekend. Last year, our featured presenters included: 

    - Marta Rivas, Librarian 
    - Tracy Polte, Science Department Chair 
    - Nina Alexander, Visual Arts Department Chair 
    - Laura Ryan, Beginners Gradehead 
    - Erin Warwick, Lower School Music Teacher 

    Playgroups take place on Saturday, January 11, 25, and February 1. You can register your child through Ravenna.

  • + Admissions Day - January 17: Half-Day Morning Visit

    Participating in Admissions Day is required for all students applying to Grades III, IV, V, VI and VII. 

    On the morning of Friday, January 17, 2025, applicants have the campus to themselves! Students will participate in group activities and individual work with a teacher during their visit. (This is an event for applying students only.)
